Zach Livingston, CIP, CCMI

Interventionist, Recovery Coach & Case Manager

Zach Livingston is a nationally recognized interventionist, recovery coach, and case manager known for bringing calm, credibility, and uncompromising accountability to complex family situations. One of the field’s most compelling recovery professionals, he combines lived experience, professional credentials, residential-treatment experience, and nationally televised intervention work.

FROM HIGH-RISK ENVIRONMENTS TO PURPOSEFUL SERVICE

For the first years of his professional life, Zach traveled throughout the country fighting wildfires. The work demanded composure, discipline, teamwork, and the ability to make sound decisions in volatile conditions. During that period, he also developed a severe addiction that led to incarceration, treatment episodes, relapse, and a near-fatal overdose.

After establishing recovery in 2017, Zach began translating what he had survived into service. Before becoming a full-time interventionist, he worked with young men in an inpatient treatment setting, learning how recovery develops after the urgency of admission has passed.

Zach joined Darren Hobbs’s team in 2020 and trained under Darren in the Johnson Model of intervention. He is a Certified Intervention Professional and CCMI whose work spans intervention, recovery coaching, case management, treatment transition, accountability, and continuing care.

CALM IN THE MIDDLE OF CHAOS

Zach is particularly effective when a family is frightened, divided, exhausted, or uncertain whether the person they love will accept help. His directness is grounded in relationship. He earns trust by showing up consistently, telling the truth clearly, and refusing to confuse compassion with avoidance.

Recovery coaching with Zach is not passive encouragement. It is an active working relationship built around honesty, structure, personal responsibility, practical goals, and follow-through. He helps clients translate intentions into daily action while helping families understand what support is useful and what may unintentionally reinforce the problem.

INTERVENTION AND CONTINUING CARE

An intervention is not complete when someone agrees to enter treatment. Zach helps families plan the transition into care, maintain appropriate communication, respond to resistance, and prepare for what follows treatment. Depending on the engagement, his work may include travel coordination, treatment transition, recovery coaching, case management, family communication, monitoring, and collaboration with authorized clinical professionals.

His lived experience gives him empathy. His professional development gives that empathy structure. His field experience gives him the judgment to remain steady when circumstances change quickly.

FEATURED ON A&E’S INTERVENTION

Zach has appeared alongside Darren Hobbs as an intervention professional on A&E’s Intervention. His nationally televised work reflects the qualities families experience privately: calm under pressure, direct communication, persistence, and a willingness to walk shoulder to shoulder with people during consequential moments.

The objective is not simply to get through a crisis. It is to help the individual and family move toward responsibility, connection, stability, and a life with purpose.

INTERVENTIONIST & CASE MANAGER. For the first decade of his professional life, Zach traveled the country fighting wildfires, an intensity that also fueled his own struggle with addiction. After finding sobriety in 2017, Zach translated that experience into a calling: walking shoulder to shoulder with families in crisis. Now a board-certified interventionist trained in the Johnson Model, Zach won’t negotiate with the disease of addiction, and his directness earns families trust when it matters most.
