About.

No one dreams of needing an interventionist.

Parents dream about graduations, weddings, grandchildren, and watching their children build healthy, meaningful lives. They don't imagine late-night phone calls from hospitals, arrests, overdoses, psychiatric crises, or wondering if their son or daughter will make it home alive.

If you've found your way here, chances are your family is carrying a burden you never expected.

First, know this: you are not alone.

More

Led by Certified Intervention Professional Darren Hobbs, The Firm helps families regain direction when addiction, mental-health concerns, or destructive behavior has disrupted daily life. Darren brings 15 years of intervention and family-consulting experience, personal recovery experience, and work with families connected to 17 countries. He understands that behind every crisis is a family searching for clear answers and a workable plan.

That is why The Firm exists.

We are a family addiction consulting practice specializing in intervention, treatment placement, adolescent and young-adult concerns, co-occurring substance-use and mental-health conditions, prevention coaching, family consulting, long-term case management, recovery coaching, and substance monitoring. Every recommendation begins with understanding the whole situation: family dynamics, mental health, substance use, prior treatment, medical concerns, legal issues, practical constraints, and the family's goals. No two families receive the same map.

Our philosophy is grounded in responsibility rather than blame. Substance use is often serving an emotional or functional need. We work to understand that function, help families communicate more effectively, establish clear limits, and make informed decisions. Compassion does not mean permissiveness. Love delivered with intention can include boundaries, accountability, and decisive action.

Prevention Is the Best Intervention.

Families do not have to wait for an overdose, arrest, hospitalization, academic collapse, or complete relational breakdown before seeking guidance. Early concerns may include vaping, alcohol or marijuana use, prescription-drug misuse, anxiety, depression, declining grades, social withdrawal, escalating conflict, or a young adult who is unable to move forward. Prevention coaching and early family consultation can help parents recognize risk, strengthen connection, align caregivers, and respond before the pattern becomes more entrenched.

When Crisis Hits, Experience Matters.

When emotions are high and circumstances are changing quickly, families need more than reassurance. They need an organized assessment, clear priorities, and a coordinated response. The Firm has guided families through interventions, urgent treatment decisions, psychiatric complications, relapse, legal concerns, executive and professional matters, and complex travel or placement logistics.

Our work can continue after admission through family guidance, recovery coaching, case management, transition planning, accountability, and monitoring. Services may be delivered in person or virtually when appropriate. The Firm works nationally and internationally and collaborates with parents, spouses, healthcare professionals, attorneys, treatment providers, schools, and other members of a family's support system.

Asking for help is not weakness. It is often the point at which a family stops reacting and begins acting with purpose.

We do not simply help someone reach treatment. We help families build a healthier way forward.
