Getting to treatment is part of the intervention plan

Agreement to accept help can be brief. A delayed flight, missing identification, argument at home, or sudden change of mind can undo hours of careful preparation. The Firm coordinates discreet transportation and accompaniment so the transition from intervention or crisis to appropriate care is planned—not improvised.

WHAT TRANSPORT PLANNING CONSIDERS

• Current intoxication, withdrawal, medical, and psychiatric stability

• The destination’s admission requirements and confirmed arrival time

• Identification, medications, luggage, documents, and family communication

• Flight, vehicle, and connection logistics

• Elopement risk, conflict, mobility needs, and prior travel problems

• Whether a trained sober escort, travel nurse, medical transport, or additional safety resource is appropriate

Transport is not an ambulance, law-enforcement function, or substitute for emergency medical care. The Firm does not physically force a competent adult into treatment. Immediate medical danger, overdose, imminent violence, or an unsafe condition should be directed to 911 or the appropriate local emergency service.

MORE THAN A RIDE

The professional’s role may begin before departure: reducing uncertainty, maintaining calm communication, coordinating with the receiving program, and preventing avoidable gaps. When travel ends, relevant information and agreed belongings are handed off to the authorized receiving party.

Transportation can be arranged after an intervention, between levels of care, following discharge, for a return home, or as part of a sober-companion or case-management engagement. International and complex travel is evaluated individually, including local laws, documents, medical needs, and qualified resources on the ground.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY SUPPORT WHEN JUSTIFIED

Some cases require more than an interventionist. The Firm can coordinate clinical input, physicians, travel nurses, and appropriately scoped security professionals—including experienced special-operations personnel—when the facts and agreed safety plan justify those resources. They are never added for theater.

Before travel begins, the receiving program or responsible professional should be expecting the client. We confirm practical details within the engagement scope and reduce the chance that a family is left solving admission problems at an airport or facility entrance.
