Intervention
A well-orchestrated drug or alcohol intervention can be the beginning of a life changing journey of healing for your loved one. Through the compassionate participation of family and friends, the individual struggling with addiction is shown the harm their behavior is having on those around them and, most of all, on themselves. With this painful reality illuminated, a skilled, trained interventionist then extends a genuine invitation to accept help.
Intervention is often misunderstood as an angry confrontation. The truth is that a well-facilitated intervention is the most compassionate thing you can do for someone struggling with addiction. Guided by love, kindness, and unwavering family support, intervention creates a space to invite your loved one to take part in their own healing.
Watching someone caught in the cycle of drug or alcohol addiction can leave family fand friends feeling entirely powerless. The behavior of your loved one may be hurtful and completely out of character. Trust has likely been damaged and attempts to encourage them to seek treatment often result only in defensiveness and emotional arguments. An educated, experienced interventionist can help navigate these challenges and promote the need for healing within the family system.
Those who struggle with addiction almost always have low self-worth and are carrying an immense amount of shame underneath denial. There is often also a history of trauma and/or other mental health challenges. An effective interventionist will take these things in to account and guide the family through the intervention process in a way that ensures an atmosphere of respectful, supportive accountability.
Recovery Coaching
Recovery coaching is a valuable tool that can be applied in a variety of situations, including as an ongoing support for those transitioning from treatment back into their daily lives or as an alternative when residential treatment may not be required.
Returning home from treatment can be challenging and involve a variety of risks for relapse. Maintaining new healthy habits and implementing the recovery tools they have learned outside of the safety of treatment can be difficult without structured support in place. Our experienced recovery coaches can help your loved one integrate their newly established recovery into daily life. This often looks like providing support and accountability in identifying potential triggers, creating customized relapse prevention plans, utilizing healthy communication within the family system and implementing the coping skills learned in treatment. When your loved one has succeeded in building a strong foundation, recovery coaches can assist establishing a healthy, balanced routine that maintains their recovery activities while integrating growing professional, educational, and family responsibilities.
Sometimes, often because substance use has been identified early on, residential treatment may not be the most suitable approach. Another option in the initial stages of recovery is to enlist a recovery coach to provide guidance and support as your loved one endeavors to begin their journey of recovery and healing.
Substance Monitoring
Research has shown that the enhanced accountability of consistent drug and alcohol monitoring in early recovery can lead to better outcomes. Our monitoring program combines the most accurate screening methods in the industry with customizable testing schedules, and discreet, portable technology. This enables us to create fully individualized testing plans that fit your loved one’s lifestyle and can be implemented a la carte or integrated seamlessly into a treatment plan including case management or recovery coaching.
In addition to the valuable relapse prevention component provided by alcohol and drug testing, our monitoring program seeks to provide family members the peace of mind that their loved one is maintaining sobriety. This can help facilitate the rebuilding of trust and healing within the family system. In the case of an identified slip, The Firm team is immediately available to provide crisis management or treatment placement services, as needed.
Transport Services
Ensuring that your loved one makes it safely to treatment or maintains sobriety when traveling in early recovery can be challenging. From passing by airport bars to coping with the stresses of unanticipated travel changes, traveling often features a variety of potential triggers and pitfalls. Solo time during a trip can also result in your loved one trying to handle risky second thoughts about entering treatment or anxiety about their first important work trip or family visit in early recovery by themselves. A trained transport companion can help provide the real-time support needed to ensure your loved one arrives safely at their destination.
Treatment Placement
Choosing a treatment center for your loved one can be overwhelming. Selecting the right program is often critical when determining the likelihood of success in the beginning of an individual’s recovery. There are a large variety of options, and it can be difficult to determine which program offers the approach that best fits your loved one’s needs.
Our treatment placement services start with completing a thorough assessment to make the most informed and individualized recommendations. Based on your family’s specific situation, the assessment process may include the collection of family history, relevant clinical information from any collaborating therapists or psychiatrists, and/or an interview, if they are willing, with the individual in need of treatment.
Our team will then combine over ten years of treatment placement experience with their understanding of your loved one’s unique needs to provide fully customized treatment placement recommendations. We then remain available to provide support throughout your decision-making and assistance in navigating your loved one’s admission to the chosen facility.
Throughout the treatment consultation process we are guided solely by finding the options most conducive to your loved one’s long-term recovery. We never accept any payment or kickbacks from the treatment centers we recommend, enabling us to remain as unbiased as possible.
Family Coaching
It can be overwhelming to choose to be vulnerable and engage in the journey of healing with addiction in our families. It begins with a decision. We decide that we are worthy of healing. We are worthy of self-care. We are worthy of community among ourselves. That decision is what has the power to catapult us into a life of freedom and abundance.
It is our privilege to guide you and your family to recovery from the devastating effects of addiction. Our primary objective in this role is to offer support, resource recommendations, and guided exercises that will hopefully help you gain insight into how your loved one’s addiction has impacted the family, and how to move into a future of family-wide recovery. We are honored to walk shoulder to shoulder with you on your journey. We look forward to getting to know you and watching the miracle of recovery take place in your family.
